Test Tubes. Water Sort - Tips, Tricks & How to Get a High Score
These tips come from my own session with Test Tubes. Water Sort. I cleared Level 1 with three stars and got Level 2 to three quarters sorted before a button press reset it. Everything below is what I saw on screen, including the one mistake that cost me a level.
- Click a tube to lift it, then click the tube you want to pour into. Wait for each click to register before the next one, because clicks I made too quickly were ignored.
- You can only pour onto a matching top color or into an empty tube. When I tried pink onto a blue top, nothing moved and the selection simply cleared.
- Use empty tubes as holding spots. On Level 2 I poured the loose pinks into one empty tube and the loose blues into the other, which exposed the greens underneath.
- Build each color on a tube that already has that color at the bottom. On Level 2 the greens joined up neatly in the tube that started with two greens at its base.
- Be careful with the curved arrow button at the bottom. I expected it to undo one move, but it reset the whole level to its starting layout and wiped my progress.
- The light bulb is a hint. It made a correct move for me automatically and its badge dropped from 5 to 4. The count did not come back after a restart, so save hints for when you are truly stuck.
- Every tube holds 4 layers. A tube is done when it holds 4 of one color, at which point a cork pops on and a green checkmark appears, so you can stop thinking about it.
Take it slow, keep at least one tube free as a buffer, and treat the curved arrow as a restart rather than an undo. There is no timer, so careful thinking beats fast clicking.
How I worked through Level 2
Level 2 has five tubes, three filled and two empty, with pink, blue, and green mixed together. Reading top to bottom, the first tube started pink, blue, green, pink; the second pink, blue, green, green; and the third blue, green, pink, blue.
My approach was to move the top layers out of the way first. Pinks went into one empty tube and blues into the other, which uncovered the greens. Those greens then joined the second tube, which already had greens at the bottom. I reached three of four layers on all three colors before I pressed the curved arrow and the level reset.
What the bottom buttons did for me
There are four buttons along the bottom of each level. The curved arrow reset the full level. The light bulb gave one automatic correct move and started with a badge of 5. A tube with a plus sign also showed a badge of 5, but I did not press it. A double arrow with a small video icon looks like a skip that may play an ad, which I did not try.
The buttons dim while a pour animation plays, so wait for the liquid to finish moving before pressing anything else.
