Baba Is You - Tips for the First Board

Baba Is You on Pixelsprout is a fan-made remake of the rule-changing puzzle idea, played one square at a time. These tips come from my time on the first board, where I pushed rocks toward the flag, and they focus on slow, careful moves.
- Read the word blocks before you move. On the first board I saw BABA IS YOU, FLAG IS WIN, WALL IS STOP and ROCK IS PUSH, and together they tell you what you control, what wins and what blocks you.
- Click the game once so the keyboard works. Arrow keys did nothing for me until I focused the game area, and then the character moved right away.
- Look at where the rocks sit before you push anything. A line of rocks in the middle of a corridor can block your path, but pushing the central one sideways opened a way through for me.
- Move one square, then look again. The game is turn-based with no timer that I could see, so there is no reason to rush a push.
- Remember that walls stop you. If the board has a wall you cannot pass, look for a rock or a word block you can move instead of trying to walk through it.
- Know where RESTART and UNDO are on the screen before you get stuck. I did not need them on my short run, but both buttons were visible and a bad push is easier to fix with a plan.
- Keep the flag in mind while you work. Once the flag is the win target, every push should either clear a path to it or keep a path open.
Treat each board like a small riddle. Study the words, make one push at a time, and think about what each push changes before you make it.
