Is this the original Getting Over It?
No. It is a fan-made Scratch recreation by griffpatch, not the original game by Bennett Foddy. The start screen credits it as a Scratch edition with Griffpatch, and the levels are built from giant Scratch code blocks.
How do you move in Getting Over It?
You only control the hammer. Move the mouse so the hammer head presses against a block, then pull the cursor the other way to push the cat and its pot.
Do the arrow keys or WASD do anything?
No. Arrow keys and WASD had no effect when they were tried in an earlier session. The game is played with the mouse alone.
What is the start of the climb like?
It begins on a low pile of when clicked blocks with gaps between some of them. In a replay, the cat crossed a gap without falling, and the tall upright when clicked block was visible ahead.
Can you turn off the commentary?
Yes. The start screen has separate Sound Effects and Commentary toggles next to the New Game option.
What do the timer and World Record show?
A timer in the top right corner counts up during a run. The start screen shows a World Record time in the same spot.
