Moonbloom - Frequently Asked Questions
Is Moonbloom free to play?
Yes. It is a Pixelsprout original that plays in your browser for free with no download. An ad sat beside the game while I played, but it never covered the board.
How do you play Moonbloom?
Pick a column and drop the seed in your hand. It falls to the lowest empty cell. Three or more of the same plant touching by an edge grow into the next form.
What are the controls?
Click a column to drop a seed. On the keyboard, the arrow keys or A and D move the column, and Enter drops. Space also dropped a seed in my session.
Do diagonal matches count?
No. The game says plants must touch by an edge, so only side by side or stacked seeds count toward a group.
How many levels are there?
The game calls its levels evenings. The page says to clear five evenings and then keep going for a high score. I cleared First dew and started Second leaf.
What happens when you finish an evening?
A card called The evening held shows your score for that evening. Next evening starts the next one with the score reset to 0, and your best score stays in the header.
Is there a timer?
I did not see a timer or lives in the first two evenings. You can take your time choosing where each seed goes.
What do rain, pebbles and the moonbloom do?
The help card says rain upgrades the top plant in a column, pebbles block a cell until a nearby merge cracks them, and a moonbloom shatters them. They did not appear in my first two evenings.
